PS4 system software updated to 5.53

Yesterday, one new sysytem software of PlayStation 4 was released. As always, the changelog of PS4 5.53 is still one sentence “This system software update improves system performance.”

But Mathieulh confirmed that PS4 5.53 has patched 5.05/5.50 Webkit exploit on his twitter.

The new update allows to choose ow much data you want them to collect from your console. This includes data about online services (which cannot be deactivated), and navigation data (how you use the console. That part can be turned off).

Note: If you want to hack your console in the future, do not update your PS4 and keep it in lower firmware version. Or you do not mind it, just update your console directly.


PS4 system firmware 5.05 released

Sony released new system firmware for PS4 console-5.05. What is new of version 5.05 and should we update our PS4 to the latest firmware version?

PS4 system firmware v5.01 released


Sony released a new system firmware version 5.01 for PS4. This update is optional which you can update or not in you like. If you want to hack your console in the future, it is better to stay at a lower firmware version.

This system software update improves system performance.

If you want to update your PS4 console to v5.01, power on your PS4 and o to [Settings] > [System Software Update] and click ‘Next’ and then ‘Update’.

PS4 system firmware 4.50 supports Boost Mode, Voice Chat for Remote Play


Sony announced that the new system firmware of Playstation 4.50 will be released on March, 9. The new system firmware will bring many features.

The most important feature in this update is Boost Mode for PlayStation 4 Pro only. It improves performance on most games when using the updated system instead of the Pro only helping with games that have been optimized for it.

With this update, PS4 supports voice chat when using Remote Play on Windows PC, Mac or an Xperia device. And it also improves the resolution of the system screen displayed on your TV when you’re out of VR mode.

PS4 Custom Firmware (CFW) comes out?


Great News. Several weeks ago, one Japanese scene developer tweeted that he has codded his own Custom Firmware for usage on Modded PS4 Console. The version of this CFW is Y8.10 .ver. This CFW can not be introduced unless it is a remodeled PS4. So he plans to sell the ways of modding PS4 Console and CFW Y8.10 .ver. The price is not announced

How to update your PS4 to a specific firmware?

In this post, an instruction will tell you how to update your PS4 console to a specific firmware, without having to update to the latest firmware which enables users not to jailbreak their console. It works for all the firmware.

A Flash USB of 1GB at least
A PS4 on a FW lower than the one you want to update (Sorry, not downgrading on this one)
The update file (Link in the first step)

1. Download the firmware you want to update in a PUP file, check this page. Rename the file to”PS4UPDATE”
2. Please backup your USB. Format it to FAT32
3. Create a new folder in your flash USB called”PS4″
4. Open the ps4 folder and create a folder called “UPDATE”
5. Copy the file “PS4UPDATE” to UPDATE folder
6. Shut down completely your PS4
7. Put your finger like if you were turning the console, but release it when you hear two beeps.
8. Connect your Flash USB to the PS4, then connect your ps4 controller to PS4 WITH use cable. Press the PS button.
9. Select the “Update FW” Option and select via USB drive
10. Follow the steps on screen, and select”Okay/Accept” in everything
11. The PS4 will reboot a couple of times , and guess what, you have updated your PS4 successfully.
